APPENDIX AA: CANDIDATE LAB AND RESEARCH OBSERVATORY

Frontier audit series and register reconciliation

The internal wave series and the Global Frontier Audit remain distinct source branches inside the Titan Research & Governance Lab. The Lab indexes them together but does not collapse their identifiers, revision lines or decision histories.

The internal wave series, recorded in the Wave 1 Adjudication Register above, is preserved as a Lab source branch. It adjudicates proposals raised inside Titan’s development against the operational modules, the Candidate Lab and the Observatory. Its Revision 4, 5 and 6 labels count editorial passes of that source register and remain unrelated to the publication revision of this book.

The Global Frontier Audit, historically titled the Capability Frontier Audit, is a separate external-facing literature sweep and remains a Lab source branch. Its candidates carry the TFA- prefix and are numbered by wave: TFA-W1-001 and upward. A TFA identifier is not an operational Titan record. It denotes a discovered candidate that has not yet been adjudicated into a module, Candidate Lab record, Observatory entry or reasoned exclusion.

Baseline rule. A frontier-audit wave must declare the exact publication revision it was adjudicated against, and adjudication must use the text rather than front matter alone. Wave 1 was first adjudicated against a superseded revision and front matter alone; three candidates were later found to duplicate records already in force, including a named operational module. The corrected adjudication remains preserved in the register below and its source audit release. Lab indexing does not cure, rerun or promote that adjudication.

Distinctness rule. Before any candidate is admitted, it is checked against the current machine-readable MOD-, CAND- and OBS- identifiers. The Lab master register supplies aliases and crosswalks, but an aggregate count is never an acceptable substitute for identifier-level comparison.

Revision 7N research-governance note. The completed pre-launch archive remains reconciled in Titan Research Results Compendium v1.1, and Appendix AC reports its open limits. The Titan Research & Governance Lab now indexes that reconciliation, the internal wave series, the Global Frontier Audit, specialist waves, hostile and negative review, Candidate Lab and Observatory records under one archive and master register while preserving every source identity. Ingestion or reconciliation confers no promotion, and the seven Candidate Lab definitions and fourteen Observatory entries in this appendix are not silently replaced, renumbered or expanded.
