APPENDICES
Appendix H: Comfortable Breathing Support
Exertion boundary. If physical, cognitive or emotional effort reliably makes you worse afterwards — particularly when the worsening is delayed by hours or days and takes a long time to pass — do not begin this material. Read section 5.7.1 first. The method used here is not safe for you and the general safety screen was not written to detect that.
This appendix offers one general-use support option: remain seated or otherwise safe and allow a comfortable, unforced breathing pattern without taping the mouth, forcing nasal-only breathing, hyperventilating, counting long cycles or holding the breath. A slightly longer exhale may be used only if it feels natural. Return to ordinary breathing immediately for dizziness, tingling, air hunger, chest symptoms, panic, dissociation or distress.
Breath practice is not a treatment, an autonomic diagnostic or evidence of general resilience. Persistent breathlessness, wheeze, pain, panic, suspected sleep-disordered breathing, difficulty breathing through the nose, or cardiovascular or pulmonary concerns route to qualified care. Do not tape the mouth during sleep; sleep-related breathing concerns need assessment rather than a consumer workaround.
Never practise breath holds or hyperventilation in water, while driving, near heights or machinery, while walking through hazards, or anywhere loss of consciousness could cause injury. Titan does not score BOLT, retention time or CO2 tolerance.
