2.11 PARENTING & MENTORSHIP SUPERPOWERS

Parenting and mentoring take place within relationships of power, care, culture, development, disability, and legal responsibility. No single attachment, praise, consequence, or teaching framework is universal.

Use developmentally and access-appropriate communication, preserve dignity and agency, repair harm, and keep boundaries clear. Adults must follow applicable vetting, supervision, safeguarding, privacy, and reporting requirements.

Do not ask a child, student, or mentee to keep unsafe secrets, accept unwanted contact, or treat the adult's authority as proof. Concerns about abuse, neglect, exploitation, or immediate safety require the appropriate local safeguarding route.
