Using Existing Records

There is one complete reader-facing Public Research Edition release candidate. If you import an older Cockpit or Engine record, use the compatibility-aware migration feature and review every warning before saving. An import preserves history; it does not upgrade the quality, evidence mode or safety status of the original record. Keep an untouched backup before migration and contact the stated support route if the tool does not recognise the file.

Exact compatibility identifiers belong in machine-readable records, schemas, manifests and the private technical compatibility documentation. They are not separate editions or products a reader needs to choose between.
