APPENDICES

Appendix E: Exercise Reference Boundary

This appendix does not teach lifting technique or provide an exercise library. A written description cannot establish an appropriate movement, load, range, progression, equipment setup or safe execution route for a particular person.

Exercise selection and instruction must fit the declared task, health and symptom context, medication, disability, pregnancy status, experience, equipment, environment, recovery, access and emergency support. Use an appropriately qualified clinician, rehabilitation professional, exercise professional or coach whenever the route creates material risk.

No stance, grip, depth, bar path, joint angle, breathing pattern, error cue or variation is universal. Do not learn a loaded barbell movement, power movement or maximal-effort test from this book.

If a selected route includes resistance work, the responsible professional should define prerequisites, supervision, assistance, safeties, stop rules, burden, direct task criterion and retest interval within their scope.

Record only the declared task, conditions, assistance, observed result, uncertainty, burden, symptoms, adverse events and next review. Rest, substitution, a supported route and non-participation are valid outcomes.
