This tutorial teaches how to read a sparse fictional post-event time course.   • Time-course sheet with three yes/no band columns, three fraction columns for the 15-minute row, earliest-domain times and earliest all-domain time.

Scoring rule

Award 1 point for each correct IN/OUT decision across three domains at four sampled rows (12), 1 for each first sampled domain row (3), 2 for the correct first sampled all-domain row at 30 minutes, 1 for each 15-minute change fraction (3), and 2 for a bounded sparse-sampling conclusion: 22 total. Calling 30 minutes the exact recovery time, or making a readiness decision, receives STOP.

Worked example

  1. At 15 minutes, compare tension 3 with the recovered band of 3 or lower: IN.
  2. Compare pulse 80 with 68–76 inclusive: OUT. Compare 9/10 correct with the task band of 9 or higher: IN.
  3. Calculate tension recovery: (8 - 3) / (8 - 2) = 5/6 = 83.3%.
  4. Calculate pulse recovery: (112 - 80) / (112 - 72) = 32/40 = 80.0%.
  5. Calculate task recovery: (9 - 5) / (9 - 5) = 4/4 = 100.0%.
  6. Because one domain remains out of band, continue reading the supplied table to 30 minutes rather than declaring full recovery at 15.

Correct result: At 15 minutes the sampled row is IN/OUT/IN with change fractions 83.3%, 80.0% and 100.0%. The first sampled all-domain row is 30 minutes; the exact transition time is unknown between samples.
