Worked example
The fictional baseline starts A4 and correctly reaches A1, D1 and D4, then goes to C2 instead of B2. The first wrong transition is D4–C2.
Select component C2, D1–D4–B2, because it contains the first error. Do not practise C1 or C3.
Across three C2 attempts the fictional record is incorrect, correct, correct. Each is checked immediately.
The integrated Grid 5 follows the exact original path and circles C2, earning 8/8.
The optional mirror attempt is used only after that criterion; one line lift makes it 7/8.
