Staged checking material

Answer key

  1. The original full route starts at A4, then visits A1, D1, D4, B2 and C2. Its five transitions are A4–A1, A1–D1, D1–D4, D4–B2 and B2–C2.
  2. C1 contains the first two transitions; C2 contains the middle two; C3 contains the final transition and finish marker. The components overlap at D1 and B2 so reintegration points remain explicit.
  3. The full target earns the start point only at A4, the no-lift point only if the line is continuous, and the finish point only if C2 is circled.
  4. The mirrored route starts at D4, visits D1, A1, A4, C2 and B2, and ends with B2 circled.
  5. A line may curve between dots; artistic straightness is not scored. A transition point is earned when it joins the two named dots consecutively without an intervening waypoint.
  6. Assistance, thicker lines, adapted grips or typed waypoint entries are allowed when declared. Compare only attempts made in configurations that are meaningfully comparable.

Scoring rule

Score baseline, integration and optional variation out of 8: correct start (1), five exact transitions (5), no line lift (1) and correct finish circle (1). Component attempts are correct/redo and remain separate. The method passes when it selects the baseline's first limiting component, gives up to three checked attempts and reintegrates once without worsening comfort; no extra attempts are added to force 8/8.

Authority boundary: A governed step-by-step lesson may be completed independently inside its stated limits.
