Attention & Executive Control

Sustained/selective attention, inhibition, switching, updating, goal maintenance and flexibility.

Canonical-unit rule: open each canonical Power unit in the declared order. Complete only lessons whose current treatment authorises practice. Evidence, specialist, research, restricted and status records never become self-training merely because they appear in a pathway.

Add this pathway as a starting point
You can remove, reorder or combine its units with any other Powers in Cockpit.

Canonical Power units

Unit 1 · TLU-PWR-097Self-guided lesson

PWR-097 · Sustained attention

This lesson teaches a simple sustained-attention routine. Move through one 60-token grid at a fixed pace of one token every four seconds, mark uppercase X only, notice when attention slips and return to the current token without racing. Score early and late accuracy separately, then repeat with the matched second grid after 3–7 days under the same conditions.

Unit 2 · TLU-PWR-098Self-guided lesson

PWR-098 · Selective attention

Selective attention is practised here by marking uppercase A while ignoring every other token. Two complete lists keep length and target frequency fixed while changing distractor similarity, so hits, misses, false alarms, and burden can be compared honestly.

Unit 3 · TLU-PWR-099Full low-stakes tutorial

PWR-099 · Divided attention

The learner produces separate single-task and dual-task speed/accuracy results for card sorting and tone counting, with dual-task cost correctly calculated for both.

Tutorial mode: self guided

Capability self-practice: Permitted inside the tutorial's stated low-risk limits

Unit 4 · TLU-PWR-100Full research tutorial

PWR-100 · Inhibitory control

This tutorial teaches the analysis behind a go/no-go record without asking you to perform the task. You will align a neutral cue sequence with a fictional response log, mark responses made when the record says withhold, mark missing responses when the record says respond, calculate both error types separately and write a narrow conclusion. You will not practise inhibition or use the result to judge a person.

Unit 5 · TLU-PWR-101Self-guided lesson

PWR-101 · Task switching

This tutorial uses two blocked rule sets and two cued mixed sets to teach how switch and repeat errors are scored. The supplied fictional records show an accuracy-time trade-off. Because the supported set is later and contains different items, the lesson reports association rather than claiming that rule naming caused improvement.

Unit 6 · TLU-PWR-102Full research tutorial

PWR-102 · Working-memory updating

This tutorial teaches how to analyse a completed running-memory record without doing a memory drill. For each five-item sequence, derive the three correct last-two pairs, compare them with the fictional responses, score exact ordered pairs and distinguish order, lost-item and rule-format errors. You will not extend the sequence, practise the task or claim that a score measures intelligence or everyday memory.

Unit 7 · TLU-PWR-103Full low-stakes tutorial

PWR-103 · Goal maintenance

The learner completes a delayed fictional desk goal after a timer interruption and records whether the cue was detected, the goal retrieved, the action completed and which supports were used.

Tutorial mode: self guided

Capability self-practice: Permitted inside the tutorial's stated low-risk limits

Unit 8 · TLU-PWR-104Full research tutorial

PWR-104 · Cognitive flexibility

This tutorial teaches how to audit a completed two-rule card-sort record without asking anyone to sort cards. You will derive the correct bin from the visible rule, compare it with a fictional chosen bin, and call an error perseveration only when the old rule predicts the recorded wrong response. You will also separate a supported repeat from the first switch and keep personality, autism and clinical claims out of the result.

Pathway framework

  1. Orient
Read the scope, prerequisites and authority treatment.
  2. Traverse
Open each canonical Power unit in order.
  3. Integrate
Connect permitted lessons without enlarging their claims.
  4. Transfer
Use predeclared contexts and record limitations.
  5. Maintain
Review, retain, retire or seek qualified support.

Pathway completion record

Record which canonical units were opened, which governed lessons were completed, which were explanation-only, and what transfer or maintenance decision followed. Pathway completion does not create validation, qualification or promotion.
