Sequence legs, trunk and arms in one measured medicine-ball throw
Rapid force sequencing is the timed order in which body segments contribute to a named action. This lesson teaches a provider-led forward medicine-ball throw for timing: hold a fixed stance, begin with leg drive, let hip and trunk extension follow, finish with the arms and release into a net. Synchronous video or force data is used to check onset order and impulse; ball velocity is recorded separately from sequence quality.

Rapid force sequencing: Stand on the recorded foot marks with the ball at the declared start point and the target centred. Move slowly through 'legs, trunk, arms, release' without the ball, then with a very light provider-selected ball.
During an authorised attempt, As the legs extend, let hips and trunk transfer forward while keeping the ball on the target line. Absorb forward momentum without crossing the line or twisting; wait until the ball is captured before relaxing.
Match the stance and ball start to the reference image and keep leg, trunk and arm onset, impulse and ball outcome in separate columns.
Qualified help is required for

2 · Get ready
Gather what you need and check the starting conditions

Before you start
Agree on the named action and its intended phase order; do not mix a chest pass with an overhead or rotational throw.
Synchronise the camera/force clock and place phase markers before warming up.
Report shoulder, back, hip, knee or pelvic symptoms and any loss of grip.
Place feet and ball exactly as shown in the reference image, then name the sequence aloud: legs, trunk, arms. Capture a still reference frame before any measured throw.
Practise the words legs–trunk–arms and perform slow captured throws from the marked stance before collecting onset timing.

4 · Worked example
See the whole method used once
Scenario
A coach uses a 2 kg forward medicine-ball throw, fixed stance, force platform and synchronized side video.
Walkthrough
The learner rehearses 'legs, trunk, arms' slowly twice.
Throw one reaches 7.9 m/s but video shows arms starting before leg drive, so sequence is invalid.
Throw two shows leg onset at 0 ms, trunk at 70 ms and arms at 135 ms, with 7.5 m/s ball speed and target hit.
Throws three and four keep the same order with similar phase impulse and hit the target.
The coach ranks sequence consistency separately from fastest ball velocity.
Result
Three throws meet the declared onset order and target rule. The faster invalid throw is not evidence of better rapid force sequencing, and the task does not establish sequencing in sprinting or lifting.

Measure what changed

How: Synchronise video and force data, use fixed stance/implement/instruction, mark phase events with a predeclared rule and retain velocity/accuracy separately.
Good result: At least three valid attempts show the same intended phase order and improving or stable phase impulse without worse outcome or symptoms.
