Answer key

  1. M1 ARDO means a red replica dot; the application answer is replica. M2 BEMA means the square paper-sample tray; the application answer is BEMA.
  2. M3 CERIN means blue tag, staff handling only; the visitor-handling answer is no. M4 DOVA is the quiet-reading room beside the east stairs; the application answer is DOVA.
  3. M5 ERIS is a token for borrowing a magnifier until closing; the item is a magnifier. M6 FARO permits photography without flash.
  4. M7 GALEN is the green visitor-touch band; the answer is yes. M8 HIRA is the triangle that points to the lift; the answer is HIRA.
  5. A definition response must preserve the item’s function and its distinguishing cue where one is specified. For example, ‘replica mark’ alone does not earn the ARDO definition point because it omits the red dot.
  6. Application is scored independently. A remembered definition with a wrong application earns the definition point only; declaring an aid never removes a correct point but changes the configuration label to supported.

Scoring rule

For each of eight cards, award 1 point for a definition that preserves the complete keyed meaning and 1 point for the keyed application answer. Baseline and T+3-day totals are each out of 16; also report definition/8 and application/8. No half points and no speed bonus. The descriptive gain is delayed total minus baseline total. If an answer choice, cue or external aid is used, score accuracy normally but label the result supported. A useful outcome is accurate delayed retrieval or appropriate application with acceptable burden; there is no expertise threshold and no universal spacing claim.

Authority boundary: A governed step-by-step lesson may be completed independently inside its stated limits.
