Answer key
- D1 labels are VR and DR. REM, complete prearranged signal and 4/4 scorer agreement meet the verification rule; dream content is also recalled. UR is not added because the lucid report is accompanied by VR. SQ is absent.
- D2 labels are UR and DR. The report supports recalled content and an unverified lucidity report, but there is no polysomnography, signal channel or independent match, so VR is impossible.
- D3 labels are UR and DR. N2 is not REM, only two movements resemble the sequence and scorers do not agree. The lucid report remains a report; it is not converted into VR.
- D4 label is VR only. The REM signal event meets the operational verification rule, while no recalled dream content means DR is absent. The result does not prove remembered lucidity or daytime benefit.
- D5 labels are VR, DR and SQ. Verification still passes, but shortened sleep opportunity and worse next-day sleepiness must remain visible; a verified event is not automatically a beneficial or acceptable training outcome.
- No case establishes reliable overnight learning, control of every dream, trauma treatment, durable repetition or improved daytime performance.
Scoring rule
For each case award 1 point for correct REM-stage use, 1 for correct complete-signal use, 1 for correct scorer-agreement use, 1 for the exact VR/UR/DR/SQ label set and 1 for a bounded non-claim: 5 points each, 25 total. Passing requires at least 23, D2 and D3 not labelled VR, D4 not labelled DR and D5 labelled SQ. Any sleep interruption, induction routine, restriction advice, nightmare or trauma treatment, or claim of reliable dream control receives STOP.
Authority boundary: Titan teaches a complete Power-specific research method because operational capability practice is not currently justified.
