- E1: arrival error = |118 - 120| = 2 degrees. Absolute deviations are 2, 1, 1, 2 and 1; their sum is 7, so mean absolute error from target = 7 / 5 = 1.4 degrees. Three of five samples are in band: -1, +1 and +1.
- E2: arrival error = 0 degrees. Absolute deviations sum to 2, so mean absolute error from target = 2 / 5 = 0.4 degrees. All five samples are in band.
- E3: arrival error = 0 degrees, but absolute deviations sum to 10, so mean absolute error from target = 2.0 degrees. Only the zero sample is in band: one of five. Reaching the target once does not establish stable control.
- E4: arrival error = 0 degrees. Absolute deviations sum to 11, so mean absolute error from target = 2.2 degrees. Only the zero sample is in band: one of five. Because the cradle was removed, E4 is not a like-for-like comparison with E1 or E2.
- E1 versus E2 is the only direct before/later comparison because angle, device and cradle match. E2 has lower arrival error, lower mean absolute error from target and more in-band samples in that exact configuration.
- E2 cannot establish control at 90 degrees, without the cradle, throughout a whole range or under load. None of the records establishes tissue health, rehabilitation success, bulletproof joints or injury prevention.
Scoring rule
Score the worksheet, never the person. For each case award 1 point for correct arrival error, 1 for the correct mean absolute error from target, 1 for the correct in-band count and 1 for a configuration-bounded interpretation: 16 points total. Passing requires at least 14 points, the E1–E2 comparison identified as the only direct comparison, and E3/E4 not treated as transfer evidence. Any instruction to copy a position, stretch, hold, load, remove support, test pain or progress receives STOP rather than a score.
